Apis melliferia iberiensis, or the Gibraltar bee (Spanish: mellifera iberica), is a honey bee subspecies native to Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar.

Observed behaviour

If the colony is disturbed, one or two sentries are dispatched for at least 24 hours to attack anything that resembles a threat. These sentries may attack humans.
